You know a painting is complete when the artist signs their name.
But I signed a painting today and then noticed some unfinished areas had been left unnoticed.
I think its alright to go back to your painting even when you find that it actually isn’t complete yet.
But the thing is, with that, will you be able to tell if any signed works are finished? I leave my work satisfied but I could change it if I felt strongly about that.
I have a problem with ‘healing’. Like my signed painting from today – what if when you’ve been through the ‘healing’ process and then realise there’s more to work through after all? Healing doesn’t end, but for me I think I’m going to rename ‘healing’ to growth and discovery. Because instead of dwelling and trying to erase the past I’d rather use it to build my passions and character!

There’s a guy standing directly opposite me listening to Micheal Jackson in headphones and I’m holding in laughs cause everyone is just looking at him and each other smirking – he’s completely unaware that we’re listening to his music too.
A film I’d really recommend for anyone who’s stuck in a rut – a place I often find myself – is the 2006 live action film Honey and Clover.
I cried. Look it up.
I want to go to a park and find a four leaf clover. I’d like to find some luck to bring into the new-ish year!
Happy lunar new year! I looked up the meaning of the year of the rabbit this morning and found that it symbolised ‘longevity, peace and prosperity.’ I hope everyone reading this will experience those things this year!
I finished a painting today! Here’s a photo I took at 2:30 pm:
I’m so proud of myself for creating something I adore! As a learning painter and artist its sometimes hard to translate that image you have in your head onto the canvas – but in this piece I think I got pretty close! I also want to move in to that painted world when I can, sipping my espresso and eating Pastel de Nata (those gorgeous Portuguese custard tarts)
